2016 Anti-Racism Festival, Calgary

The 48-hour Anti-Racism Film Festival  took place during February and March of 2016 in Calgary, Alberta. This is because February is Black History Month and in March takes place the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

The 48-hour film challenge took place on February 12-14, 2016. Teams met at That Empty Space, University of Calgary and started the challenge at exactly 5pm on Friday, February 12.  There was also a Spoken Word Poetry Jam that will took place on Saturday February 13, 7pm, at That Empty Space at the University of Calgary. There was an open floor for Spoken Word starting at 7pm, and afterwards participants stuck around, met people, discussed, and enjoyed. The red carpet screening took place on Monday, March 21, 2016, the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. The night was a red carpet event that showcased the completed films at the John Dutton theatre in downtown Calgary at 6pm.
